
Dr. Jia Yu is an Associate Professor of Economics at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU). Her research interests include Health Economics, Social Economics, Labor Economics and Applied Economics. Her research work has been published in several high-quality peer reviewed journals, including Sustainability, International Journal of Applied Economics, British Journal of Healthcare Management, etc. Dr. Yu has presented her research works at many regional, national, and international conferences, while serving as session chair, discussant, and reviewer for many times. Dr. Yu received her Ph.D. in economics at Suffolk University, Boston, her M.A. in economics at SUNY Albany, and her bachelor’s degree in international business at Tianjin University of Finance and Economics in China. Before join SCSU, she worked as lecturer of economics at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA.
Dr. Yu is currently living with her husband, two sons, and their beloved cat, Mindy in Connecticut. She enjoys reading, swimming, and exploring new things with her young kids all the time.
