Associate Professor of Economics
Sushma Shukla PhD, is an associate professor of Economics at Piedmont Virginia Community Collegety College in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Dr. Shukla earned her B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Economics from Ravi Shankar University, Raipur, India. She has also earned her M. Phil. in Economics from Devi Ahilya University in Indore, India. She has received gold medal for her academic excellence in M.A. and M. phil. Before moving to The United States she taught graduate and undergraduate level economics courses at Ravishankar University in Raipur, India.
Dr. Shukla is an innovative, passionate and devoted teacher. She offers more than 10 years of experience in research and the academic environment. Her teaching experience includes both face-to-face and the online environment. She teaches Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics, Public Finance, Research methodology and International trade. Her research areas of interest include economic development and planning, macroeconomics, innovation, economic growth and emerging economies.
Dr. Shukla lives with her husband, two daughters and pet dog in Virginia. She enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking, oil painting and relaxing with family and friends.
