Professor Emeritus, Farmingdale State, SUNYE-Mail: frankjcav@bellsouth.net___Frank Cavaioli, Ph.D.,is professor emeritus at State University of New York at Farmingdale, (SUNY-Farmingdale). He also was on the faculty at Nassau Community College and a visiting professor at  Florida Atlantic University. He is former president of the American Italian Historical Association and a  former member of its Executive Council.Dr. Cavaioli is one of the founders of the Eastern Community College Social Science Association. He served as vice president of the Board of Trustees, as archivist-historian and author of the history of ECCSSA’s first ten years, as well as served on various sub-committees of the Board.  In addition, he  served as managing editor of The ECCSSA Journal. He has received numerous honors and awards for his work with ECCSSA.Dr. Cavaioli is author of eleven books, four educational filmstrips and numerous scholarly articles. Among his publications include: The American Italian Historical Association: At the MillenniumItalian Americans and their Public and Private Lives;West Point and the Presidency; The Ethnic Dimensions in American Society; The Peripheral Americans, State University of New York at Farmingdale; Pompano Beach, A History; and, more. He is currently working on the centennial history of Farmingdale State, SUNY, the oldest college on Long Island, founded in 1912.Cavaioli is recipient of numerous awards including awards from the Colonial Dames Society; Freedom Foundation George Washington Honor Medal; SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching; ECCSSA’s Distinguished Service Award; the Geno Baroni Award; and, many more.Cavaoili received his bachelor of arts in American civilization from the University of Tennessee; a master’s in history and political science; and, a Ph.D in American history and political science from St. John’s University.
