Katrina Spigner, Ed.D., is Assistant Professor of Organizational Leadership and Director of the Organizational Leaderhip Graduate Program. She has over 15 years experience as a senior leader in the nonprofit, philanthropic, and higher education sectors. She has focused her research on the power of women's voices. As a result of her findings, she has developed the "Voice Positioning System"--designed to help women identify, explore, and navigate the complexities of positioning their voice.
Spigner earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College and a Masters degree from the University of South Carolina, both in Social Work. Her doctoral degree was awarded in Education and Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University. Spigner's doctoral research focused on the experiences of women working in faith-based organizations where organizational silence is present. She also holds certification in Clinical Pastoral Education and Personal and Executive Coaching from the Coaching and Positive Psychology Institute (CaPP).
Dr. Spigner is the author of three books: This is for You!: 31 Days of Life-Changing Discoveries (2008, Pleasant Word); G.I.F.T.: Growing in Faith Today! (2010, Wine Press); and her most recent book, COUNTERFEIT; Lies That Cover the Naked Truth. She also is a media contributor and has been featured in and written articles for numerous magazines, most recently for Fast Company.
Spigner is the founder and CEO of Re-Source Solutions, LLC, a personal and professional growth and development company dedicated to providing such services as executive coaching, organizational consulting, people-building skills, personal coaching, personal transformation, inspirational speaking and development of personal voice.
Affectionately known as "Dr. K," her heart's desire is to "speak life each time she is given an opportunity or platform." She has coached individuals and spoken to audiences all over the country--in one-to-one sessions, in the classroom, radio, television and through other platforms.
She is a member of the International Leasdership Association, the National Association of Professional Women, the International Coaching Federation and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
